having talked about the components of visual literacy we went on to transfer that knowledge to type and image. they work on the same principles as visual literacy. you can work solely with letters to communicate.
using the sets of 10X10 glyphs of a roman, script, gothic, and block fonts and with strips of tracing paper we had to first draw a baseline and then
asked to change the weight of the stems on the roman font ABC
asked to make a light and bold version of the block B only altering the bowls - not the stem.
with the gothic A/a we were asked to make the stems really fat and the bowls really light.
asked to alter the gothic C/c to make one really blod and one really light. with the B/b we were asked to make the stems really light and the bowls really fat.
