Your contextual research, critical observations and reflective evaluations should be documented on your Design Context blog and summarised in the design and production of a 16 page Design Context Publication.

i began by planning out and writing the content of my booklet in order to work out the order of information fluently.

 

i then went on to find some images that either depicted or illsutrated the theme of the page or topic

i then used indesign to mock up the publication digitally.

having tested the print i printed onto stock and cut to size.

using thread and needle i saddle stiched the pages 

i then cut the cover boards to size

i printed and hand cut a stencil of the title to spray onto the cover board

i did another saddle stitch to attch the pages to the cover board

i then used japanese stich bind to bind the outer side of the cover boards for stability.

i think my understanding of layout has imporved from this brief along with my craft skills. my ability to collate my research into more compact amounts but still get the information across successfully has supported the quality of contents. i think my layout could have been further improved and better considered but i think the stock and print were good choices. i think the cover pages could have been better crafted but related to the rough aesthetics of climbing. next time i will work on my craft skills and layout skills in line with chosen themes and styles.
